David A. Pullicino, A.C.I.B., has been reappointed deputy governor of the Central Bank of Malta under the Central Bank of Malta Act for a five-year period with effect from September 1. He was initially appointed deputy governor on July 1, 1999.
Mr Pullicino joined the Central Bank at its inception and has been closely associated with its development over the years, having been involved in most of the bank's operational areas.
He is a member of the bank's Executive Management Committee, the Investments Policy Committee and of the Monetary Policy Advisory Council. He is closely involved in the strategy for the bank's eventual integration into the European System of Central Banks and sits on the International Relations Committee of the European Central Bank.
Mr Pullicino is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), now known as the Institute of Financial Services.
