Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be released to IMAX theatres in addition to 35mm theatres in June 2004, IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros Pictures said.

IMAX Corp. are also in discussions with Warner Bros on an IMAX3D release of Polar Express in November 2004 and an IMAX DM release of Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the summer of 2005. All family event films, based on world-renowned and best-selling classic books, are to be digitally remastered through IMAX DMR technology.

The three films would represent the fourth, fifth and sixth film commitments from Warner Bros to IMAX theatres in the last year.

The first two Harry Potter films were among the most successful films of all time, together earning almost $1.9 billion worldwide. The continued success of this film franchise is anticipated as hundreds of millions of children around the world have read J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, with millions of new readers each year.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is based on Roald Dahl's book of the same title. Actor Johnny Depp is to star as chocolate factory owner Willy Wonka and Tim Burton will direct.
