More than 500 families registered in 2003 for courses organised by the Foundation for Educational Services under the Id f'Id programme.
The programme is an educational support programme for parents, aimed at helping them recognise their own skills and share them with other parents. At the same time, by acquiring these skills, parents can help their children in their education in a more effective way.
This year, parents together with the foundation, designed 13 courses based on the needs of parents from various localities. The parents themselves chose the subjects they wished to follow, while parent leaders were trained by teachers of the foundation.
Up to now the parent-to-parent courses were aimed at parents of primary school-age children; however, it has been proposed that the programme will also be extended to cater for parents whose children attend secondary schools.
