Patrick Scicluna, a member of the Mosta Mapei Cycling Club, is organising an eight-hour cycling marathon in collaboration with the programme l-Istrina, produced by Where is Everybody, which will be broadcast live on TVM on December 27.

Mr Scicluna has been a keen and competitive cyclist for quite a number of years and when it comes to charity, he is always among the first to lend a hand.

The cycling marathon will start in front of the Marks and Spencer outlet in Sliema on December 27 at 8 a.m. The route will be from Sliema to St Paul's Bay along the Coast Road and via Burmarrad, Mosta, Naxxar, Birkirkara and Msida back to Sliema, covering over 29 kilometres.

He will be covering the full distance seven times, bringing the total up to 203 kilometres.

Donations may be made in front of the Marks and Spencer outlet in Sliema.

It is not the first time that the Mosta club will be organising an event in aid of charity. This year, this successful cycling club is also celebrating its 50th anniversary.

"An event like this would not have been organised without the help of Paul and John Magri of Magri Cycles and Spares, who encouraged Mr Scicluna to take on this task for charity, and last but not least Mosta C.C. secretary Quentin Chetcuti," Mr Scicluna said.
