If you shun cruises because of their inflexibility, a new concept introduced by Norwegian Cruise Lines may be of interest.

"Freestyle cruising" does away with many of the rigid, traditional cruising rules, such as assigning passengers to a particular table, fixed timetables and dress codes.

NCL has built four new freestyle cruising ships to accommodate the new approach. They offer individual dining times in up to 10 restaurants, no dress codes and a wide variety of on-board activities.

The concept was explained to Mondial sales executives by NCL and Orient Lines regional sales manager Brigitte Wittwer.

Mondial are the official agents for both lines.
