President de Marco in Luxor

President Guido de Marco's two-day official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt came to an end on Tuesday evening with a lecture delivered at the Mubarak Library of Cairo.

The lecture, which was attended by Ambassadors accredited to Egypt, the Council of Foreign Affairs and several others was entitled The New Architecture for Stability in the Mediterranean, and focused on the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Earlier in the evening, President de Marco met with the Grand Imam Mohammed Sayed Tantawy, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, a highly respected religious figure in the Muslim world.

President and Mrs de Marco are now in Luxor on a private visit and will be returning to Malta on Sunday.
