The Italian House of Representatives on Tuesday evening approved the fifth financial protocol with Malta, which had earlier also been approved by the Italian Senate.

The protocol will now be signed by the Italian President before publication in the Italian Government Gazette.

The protocol amounts to €75 million (Lm31 million) over three years and will be utilised for projects including improvements in the roads network, sewage treatment facilities, maritime surveillance and health.
