A board is to be set up during the coming weeks to draw up a report on inclusive education, Education Minister Louis Galea said yesterday.

The report will analyse inclusive education at present, and propose ways to improve it.

The board will include representatives from various organisations active in the sector.

He was speaking during a conference organised by the National Commission Persons with Disability.

A total of 800 disabled children attend primary schools, and 220 attend secondary schools. They are supported by 600 facilitators and kindergarten assistants.

In addition, five special schools cater for 270 students. Other students receive home tuition.
