The Venture Scouts and Rovers of St Aloysius College have swept the boards in the annual inter-island National Venture Rally which was competed for by 12 teams from 12 groups in the main competition, and by eight teams from six groups in the subsidiary competition. The teams were tested at various timed check-points over a 10-mile round course bounded by St Paul's Bay, Manikata and Mgarr in their knowledge of first aid and emergencies, general Scouting knowledge, knots and lashings and scoutcraft. The College team entered in the main competition came first and the Rover team and the reserve Venture team were first and second in the subsidiary competition. The combined points gave the three College teams the first three placings out of the 20 competing teams.
