BORWICK. On November 26, ROBIN, beloved husband of Patricia, passed peacefully away at his home 20 South Street, Wells, Somerset. Late of Casa de Rohan, Zebbug. Funeral private.

ICON Studios have launched an electronic marketing solution for the Mediterranean Conference Centre, including a dynamic website and an interactive CD ROM.

Ian Castillo, a director of ICON Studios, said that while local companies flocked to get themselves on the web or produce basic multimedia marketing tools, only recently have they truly realised the potential of the medium.

Gege Gatt, also a director of ICON Studios, said that to become a high-performance business today required an entirely new outlook and a new set of practical solutions-oriented products.

Christmas choral concert

Chorus Urbanus Productions is performing its Christmas concert in Fontana Church, on December 14 at 7 p.m. under the patronage of President Guido de Marco.

Although entrance to the concert is free, money raised during the event will go to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Accompanying the choir will be the Chorus Urbanus junior section and the ensemble of the National Orchestra.

Promotion in Belgium

Malta has been featured in the new winter 2003/04 Mediterra brochure in a prominent full colour 14-page feature.

Mediterra is a Belgian travel agent.

The feature included pictures of local landscapes, historical sites, hotels and other tourist attractions.

The insert was made possible through the promotional efforts of the Malta Tourism Authority's Brussels office, working closely with Air Malta.

Lottery Winners

Five APS Bank Visa cardholders have won Lm100 each in the fourth APS Visa card lottery.

Five cardholders are being drawn every month, until December, from among all cardholders who use their APS Visa card in retail outlets both locally and abroad and on the internet.

The winners of the October lottery are Josephine Rapinett of Sta Venera, John Grech of Gzira, Marcus Bonello of Sliema, Edmond Brincat of Birkirkara and Paul Joseph Gauci of Birkirkara.

Magic Website

The Malta Magicians' Society has launched a website giving information about the society's activities, profiles of current and honorary members and general information about past magicians, stage shows and events. The society is affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Magicians and is also known as Ring number 202.

Exhibition Of Marian Statues

The youth section of Santa Marija and King George V band of Mqabba is organising an exhibition of Marian statues at Santa Marija Palace, in Mqabba's main square to mark the 10th anniversary of its foundation.

Support for campaign

For the ninth consecutive year, McDonald's Malta is once again supporting the Clean Up the World campaign, today and tomorrow in both Malta and Gozo.

Crew members from all eight McDonald's restaurants will be teaming up with children from local schools, girl guides, boy scouts and TV personalities to clean up specific areas of neglect near the outlets.

French Resource Centre

The French Resource Centre, which is in the precincts of the Junior College, receives an average of 8,000 students each year. It is a joint venture between the Education Division and the cultural service of the French Embassy in Malta.

Charity sale

The San Lawrenz council's youth committee is raising money for the Malta Community Chest Fund by selling poinsiettas at the Arcadia complex, in Victoria on December 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until stocks last.

Elected worker/director

Alfred Debono was yesterday elected worker/director at Enemalta Corporation.

EU Research Opportunities

The Malta Council for Science and Technology, in collaboration with the University of Malta's European Unit, is organising an information meeting with the theme Opportunities for Research and Training with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

The meeting will take place at the university's common room on December 9 at 11 a.m.

Malta is currently involved as a partner in a restricted number of JRC research networks and has also participated actively in technical workshops addressing key policy areas.

At the meeting, local scientists will discuss areas of collaboration through participation in joint projects, training, participation in scientific workshops and exchange of expertise and information with JRC officials.

JRC information day

The Malta Council for Science and Technology in collaboration with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, is holding an information day at Villa Bighi, Kalkara on December 10 from 9.15 a.m.

The aim is to brief the local scientific and technical communities on the role of the JRC in supporting the development and implementation of community policy in areas of JRC competence.

This information day is targeted at scientific and technical experts from the public sector, directors of Office of Review within the ministries, officials from public policy-making institutions and authorities, industry and NGOs.
