Go mobile, which is celebrating its third anniversary, has a subscriber base of 125,000 and now has roaming facilities in 132 countries, the company's CEO, Juanito Camilleri, said.
To mark its birthday on Monday, go mobile will be giving out free talk-time to all its subscribers - both pre-paid and contract clients - during the month of December.
Call me, which was introduced successfully last summer for all Ready to go users, will be reintroduced in December.
As a result, all Ready to go card plan users will receive free talk-time based on the amount of incoming calls they receive. This offer is valid only between December 1 - 31.
With Call me, all Ready to go card plan users will get 50c free talk-time for every 60 minutes of local calls received, both from mobile and fixed lines. This credit can be used to make calls as well as to send text messages.
Ready to go users can check the amount of accumulated Call me minutes every month by sending a blank message to 4411 (free of charge). The users who qualify for this offer will be notified at the end of the year via message when the due talk-time will be credited to their account.
The Call me feature on contract subscriptions, which has been in place for over two years, will continue applying. Contract plan users receive a 50c discount on their monthly bill for every 30 minutes of incoming calls.
Meanwhile, during December, contract subscribers will be given 30 minutes of extra talk-time on local calls.
Prof. Camilleri said that with a wide spectrum of services - including go Live! MMS services and Wi-Fi/GPRS wireless internet access, go mobile was at the forefront of the latest technologies.
He added that go mobile's latest services can be tried out and tested in the company's new customer care and technology point which was opened yesterday at Bay Street. This state-of-the-art centre will be equipped with laptops and PDAs and people can try out Wi-Fi and MMS services.
Prof. Camilleri said go mobile's international roaming coverage was now available in over 132 countries worldwide, with agreements with over 175 networks.
