The House of Representatives has approved a motion setting out the timetable of the budget debate.

Opposition leader Alfred Sant will give his reaction to the budget speech on Monday evening and the prime minister will reply on Wednesday evening.

The debate in committee of supply will start on Thursday, December 4 with the debate on the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs in the morning and the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the Environment in the evening.

The debate on the Ministry of Education will be held on Friday, December 5 in the evening.

The rest of the debate will be held as follows:

Ministry of Social Policy, Tuesday, December 9 in the morning; Ministry of Resources and the Infrastructure, December 9 in the evening;

Ministry of Tourism, Wednesday, December 10 in the morning; Ministry of Health, December 10 in the evening.

Ministry of Transport and Communications, Thursday December 11 in the morning; Ministry of Information Technology and Investment, December 11 in the evening.

Ministry for Gozo, Friday, December 12 in the morning; Ministry of Youth and Culture, December 12 in the evening.

Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Monday, December 15 in the morning; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, December 15 in the evening.

Office of the Prime Minister, Tuesday, December 16 in the morning. Appropriation Bill, December 16 in the evening.
