¤ The feast of Christ the King is being celebrated in Victoria today.
Those taking part will gather in front of the monument of Christ the King on Independence Square at 3.30 p.m. Flowers will be placed at the foot of the monument by members of all the parishes of Gozo. After a Gospel reading, a cortege will leave for the Sports Complex where various activities will be held.
Bishop Nikol Cauchi's address will be followed by a celebration of the Word of God. There will be the renewal of baptismal vows, prayer to the faithful and to Christ the King, and a sacramental benediction. Throughout the island today money is being collected for church homes in Gozo.
¤ A bazaar is being held on the Xaghra's main square today, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 7.30 p.m.
¤ The drama Sigriet tal-Hajja, is being held by the Sacred Heart Seminary at its hall today at 6.30 p.m., on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from the Seminary (tel. 2155-6479) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
¤ Celebrations to mark the Nadur council's tenth anniversary will come to and end this week.
An exhibition on traffic safety and precautions is being organised by the police at Tigrija Street, in front of the primary school, at 9.30 a.m. This will be followed by pony races at 10.
A tour of the Nadur valleys is being held at 2.30 p.m., visiting the Ta' Sopu Tower, where detailed description of the current restorations will be given.
