Two brothers were yesterday charged with trying to seriously injure a man with a pen-knife in Hamrun on Thursday.

Clive Portelli, 24, and his elder brother Daron, 30, both of Hamrun, pleaded not guilty to threatening and slightly injuring Robert Tabone, trying to seriously injure him and the possession of the knife at the time of the commission of the crime and without a licence.

Clive Portelli was also charged with relapsing.

They were granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police Inspector Carlo Ellul prosecuted.

Dr Joseph Giglio appeared for the defendants.
