A 33-year-old driver from Birkirkara was seriously injured when his Honda Civic crashed into a tree in National Road, Floriana early yesterday morning.

The police said the car was being driven in the direction of Portes des Bombes when, for some reason, the driver lost control.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the accident to free the driver from the damaged car.
