A woman of Somali origin was yesterday charged with importing 41 capsules containing heroin into Malta on Monday, in the second case this month involving the importation of drugs inside the body.
Rahma Abdirahman Ibrahim, 28, holder of a Turkish passport, pleaded not guilty to conspiring to deal in heroin between October and November this year, importing the drug and the possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for her personal use on November 17.
On November 12, 32-year-old Winnie Wanjiku Kanmaz, born in Kenya but holding a Turkish passport, was charged with importing 65 capsules containing heroin into Malta. She is pleading not guilty.
Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted.
Dr Tonio Azzopardi appeared for the defendant.
