Eleven persons have been arraigned in court so far this year and accused of cruelty to animals, Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told Adrian Vassallo (MLP) in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday. He said that two had been acquitted and the cases against the others were pending.

He also said that 588 persons were arraigned in court between January and October for swearing or using foul language in public.
