Further to Reginald Fava's opinion (November 13), Malta International Airport plc confirms that it has withdrawn further disbursements in aid of the Malta Business Foundation, since the management could no longer justify sponsorship of an organisation which has put its integrity to doubt.

Moreover, it seems weird that Mr Fava has taken exception to such an obvious consequence of events and seems he would not have objected to receiving funds from an entity which he has accused of illicit behaviour.

Mr Fava has chosen to resume his contentions now that the cosmetics and skincare issue at MIA has been resolved in the most equitable manner. MIA officials had taken the trouble of explaining the reasons behind the much lamented clause 13 of the call for tenders related to the cosmetics and skincare retail activity. The fact that he has now opted to rekindle the issue confirms he is only out to pursue his own agenda to endeavour to secure, in the eyes of public opinion, a position which is evidently exhausting its term.

Ms Fenech is division manager, communication at MIA plc.
