The Malta Cookery and Food Association is holding a cookery competition open to all those working in the hotel and catering industry at the New Dolmen Hotel, Qawra from Wednesday to November 23.

The competition is divided into two sections. The static display section is the exhibition of decorated cakes and show-pieces made from fat, marzipan or chocolate. Some of these exhibits are near works of art consisting of intricate sculptures and carvings.

The second section is the practical theatre, in which the competitors have to cook a dish on the spot in front of the audience. In this section there are events for individual competitors as well as for teams.
