Top local runners for Zurrieq International Half Marathon

The sixth Zurrieq International Half Marathon will be held on Sunday. Starting at 8.30 a.m., this year's event will also comprise children fun runs. Slowly but surely, the autumn half marathon is gaining in popularity, so much so, that this year organisers are anticipating a very competitive and high-standard race, also featuring the top male and female athletes from the local scene.

A number of Moroccan, Nigerian, Italian and German marathon runners have also declared their intention to take part. The presence of overseas participants should push our top athletes to clock excellent times.

Among the most notable Maltese runners in the race are Carol Galea, Giselle Camilleri and Cecilia Fenech in the female category. Brian Magri, John Buhagiar, David Galea, Simon Camilleri, Peter Azzopardi and Jonathan Balzan will vie for honours in the men's section.
