The Bishop of Tivoli, Italy, Mgr Gugliemo Giaquinta, founder of the Pro Sanctitate movement of priests, and the three institutes of the Oblate, Apostolici Soldales and Social Animators, was well known for the retreats he would organise for the members of his movement.

One such retreat was recorded in a book entitled Il Volto del Padre, which was recently translated into Maltese by Mgr Salvu Borg as Wicc tal-Missier.

The book is divided into four sections. The first deals with how God has loved us since eternity, and how he has shown Himself to mankind; the second section shows how Jesus is the "icon" of the Father. Part three explores the close relationship between Jesus and the Father during Christ's last hours and is continued in the final chapter, which speaks about intensity and expressiveness in the prayer Jesus made during the Last Supper. The book also includes prayers written by Mgr Giaquinta.

Wicc tal-Missier, printed by J. de Bono Printing Press Ltd, is available from the Gozo Media Centre, Preca Library and other bookshops.
