The Labour Party's spokesman on education, Carmelo Abela, yesterday deposited a letter for the attention of Frank Galea, director of the criminal court, asking that a magisterial inquiry be carried out into the direct orders made by the Foundation for Tomorrow's Schools.

In his letter, the Labour spokesman noted that in the past weeks it had become public knowledge that the FTS had issued a number of direct orders amounting to hundreds of thousands of liri.
