Food intolerance

I refer to the statement by the Health Department regarding the diagnosis of Food Intolerance by computer-generated tests, to state that we only use the Yorktest foodscan range. This works from a small pinprick of blood and is tested using the Elisa (Enzyme linked Immunosorbent Assay) method, which is a proven and precise method of detecting food intolerance.

In allergy the immune system produces raised levels of IgE antibodies as a reaction to certain foods, inhalants or other allergens. In the case of food intolerance - another form of allergy - raised levels of IgG antibodies are produced in the blood.

The Yorktest is now clinically proven after the results of a recent double blind, randomised, controlled clinical trial provided evidence that if foods identified by the Yorktest IgG food intolerance test are eliminated from the diet then significant symptomatic improvements are achieved, thus helping people with food intolerance.
