A Mellieha man has been cleared of damaging the front door of his wife's house after a magistrate ruled that there had been no proof that the door had been damaged, let alone that the man had caused the damage.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti cleared Emanuel Catania, 38, of damaging the door of Michelle Catania Cordina's Naxxar house, threatening her and Deborah Cordina and breaching the peace on April 14.
