Dr Joseph L. Pace, president of the Maltese Association of Dermatology and Venereology, has been elected secretary-general of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV).

The election was held at the EADV annual congress in Barcelona last week and covers a maximum six-year tenure.

Dr Pace takes over from Irish incumbent Frank Powell in 2004.

The first EADV Spring Symposium was held in Malta earlier this year.
