Drop in non-fatal accidents at work

National Statistics Office data related to accidents at work for the quarter ending September indicate a drop of 8.8 per cent in non-fatal accidents compared to the same quarter last year. There were four fatal accidents at work in the summer months.

National Statistics Office data related to accidents at work for the quarter ending September indicate a drop of 8.8 per cent in non-fatal accidents compared to the same quarter last year.

There were four fatal accidents at work in the summer months. These involved four men working at construction sites.

There were a total of 1,293 accidents at work this summer. Of these, 89.4 per cent affected men.

The NSO said the data is based on industrial accidents reported to the Department of Social Security.
