Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami said the Nationalist government was a responsible government that strongly believed in the value of solidarity - and that was why it was tackling the pensions issue today.

It was working to ensure that while the elderly and pensioners would live decently through the social welfare system, future generations would have a standard of living under a reformed, sustainable system, Dr Fenech Adami said at the annual general meeting of the PN's pensioners association.
