An Armed Forces of Malta soldier was yesterday charged with committing a crime he was duty-bound to prevent when he attached the registration plates of one car onto another.

Albert Scerri, 33, pleaded not guilty to making a false declaration when he changed the registration plates and driving a car with false number plates and without an insurance cover on August 3.
