Call to protect Mosta valley

Nature Trust has urged the authorities to protect Wied il-Ghasel, in Mosta following reports of sewage flowing in the valley.

The environmental organisation said Wied il-Ghasel was an ecologically important valley, included in the list of sites of national ecological importance by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.

"Unless such outrageous incidents are curbed immediately, the damage incurred will hamper the efforts made by Mepa and Nature Trust to conserve the area," the trust said.
