FHRD - committed to training and development

No fewer that 15 students have joined the various programmes which the FHRD is offering in collaboration with the University of Leicester's Centre for Labour Market Studies (CLMS), bringing the total to 72, who are currently following these programmes.

Recognised as one of the foremost global providers of long-distance and e-learning higher degree courses, CLMS offers innovative, student-centred distance learning pathways leading to certificate, diploma and Master's awards.

These include a Certificate in Training Practice, a Diploma in Human Resource Management, a Diploma in Training and Development, an M.Sc. in Training, an M.Sc. in Training and Human Resource Management, and an M.Sc. in Training and Performance Management. And from this month, two new courses are being offered locally: a Certificate in Training Practice and Human Resource Management, and the Taught Doctorate in Social Sciences (HRD).

The new certificate course is structured with a focus on the work environment and provides the fundamentals in training and human resource management.

The CLMS doctorate aims to create a group of leading-edge practitioners who have mastered the full range of the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to conduct their professional activities at the highest levels. It provides the latest, most sophisticated theoretical knowledge; ensures that this knowledge can be used to inform practice, enabling practitioners to critically engage with development in their field; and equips participants with the tools and techniques necessary to conduct and evaluate research pertinent to their professional interests.
