The research theatre group Aleateia will be presenting its multi-lingual production, The Waiting Room, at this year's MED Fringe, which forms part of Gozo's Mediterranea festival.

Having successfully presented this show at the XI Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Athens, Aleateia is back on the local stage at the Astra Theatre's Giuseppe Giardini Vella Hall on Friday at 7.30 p.m.

The Waiting Room is a satire of "cosmopolitanism" and "cosmofeminism". It takes place within an ordinary waiting room with old copies of Cosmopolitan magazine and four pairs of high-heeled shoes.

Written and directed by Simon Bartolo, with original music by Chris Galea, The Waiting Room features actors Loranne Vella, Anna Formosa, Sephora Gauci and Antonella Axisa.

The MED Fringe is an ideal platform for young and not-so-young performers who wish to expose their work during the Mediterranea festival.

This year's Fringe events include two lunchtime concerts, one by a British organist and another by a 35-strong male choir from Suffolk, UK.

Booking is open and tickets are available from the Astra on tel. 2155 0985.
