Jurors in an attemped murder trial failed to reach a verdict yesterday after deliberating for more than 10 hours.

Members of the jury in the trial of Mark Lawrence Rizzo, of Paola, started deliberating at 12.30 p.m. but at 11 p.m. the case was put off to this morning. The jurors are expected to reach a verdict today.

Rizzo, 38, is pleading not guilty to the attempted murder of Desmond Falzon in Paola on July 2, 2002. The prosecution is claiming he drove his car at Falzon, who pulled his daughter out of the way and avoided being hit.
