Twistee, the terrier which had its nose sawn off, is living it up with its owners in Germany and has recently become the proud mother of three puppies.

The dog had narrowly escaped death after it was found abandoned in a field two years ago. The SPCA did not think it would survive because it could not smell anything and was rejecting its food. The former SPCA executive secretary, Mary Shephard, had nursed it back to health and the puppy was finally named Twistee because the first thing it ate was Twistees. SOS Animals Malta had come forward and contacted animal welfare organisation Pro Felice in Germany to try and find a new home for the loveable terrier.

A German couple, Andres and Silvia Gronemeier, who have no children, got to known of Pro Felice's appeal and were so touched by the dog's fate they decided to adopt Twistee and take the terrier back home with them in December 2001.
