Emmanuel Azzopardi, managing director of Queen's Dry Cleaners, was recently awarded the Commitment to Professionalism Award of the International Fabricare Institute (IFI). The presentation was held recently during the IFI annual conference in Las Vegas, California, which coincided with the institute's Clean 2003 Show.

The International Fabricare Institute regularly gives this award in a special category known as Industry Positive Recognition; it is given to an individual who has, through his knowledge of fabricare science, laundry techniques and customer service efforts, raised the professionalism of the cleaning industry.

Mr Azzopardi, 54, was a candidate on the IFI's advanced programme in Silver Spring, Maryland, for owners and managers of laundry, dry cleaning and fabricare services operations. He holds a Certified Environmental Drycleaner diploma and a certified Professional Drycleaner diploma.
