President Guido de Marco last Tuesday paid an official visit to the Ministry of Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority at the Auberge d'Italie in Valletta.

The President was welcomed by Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech and MTA chairman John C. Grech, who introduced him to the staff at the ministry and at the MTA.

The President toured the Auberge d'Italie, which was recently restored at a cost of over Lm1 million. During his visit Professor de Marco had the opportunity to relive his first years as a lawyer when the Auberge d'Italie served as the law courts.

Introduced by Dr Zammit Dimech, the President later addressed the staff at the majestic courtyard of the Auberge, which has been restored to its pristine glory. Following his address, President de Marco was presented with a memento by Dr Grech.
