Birkirkara striker Matthew Calascione's dismissal in Sunday's 4-2 defeat to Hibs and subsequent one-match suspension will be reviewed by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner this morning.

This follows a recommendation by the MFA Appeals' Board after hearing a complaint lodged by Birkirkara. The latter claimed that Calascione should not have been sanctioned as the foul leading to that red card had been committed by another player.

TV replays showed that it was Roderick Briffa who ran straight into Andre Schembri of Hibs.

At the end of yesterday's hearing, the MFA Appeals' Board recommended that Calascione's ban be revoked. It also suggested that the sanction be imposed on Briffa.

Birkirkara meet champions Sliema Wanderers on Monday.
