One of the main cables linking Marsa South Distribution Centre to Mosta Distribution Centre failed yesterday at 2.50 p.m. causing power interruptions in the north of Malta and in Gozo.

Enemalta said the power supply was restored to most of the affected localities by 5 p.m.

However, it will not be possible to fully meet demand unless the cable is repaired.

There could be other interruptions today until the fault is located and repaired.
