Bank of Valletta has just inaugurated its new representative office in Egypt, its third such office in the southern Mediterranean region following the opening of offices in Tunisia in 2000 and in Libya last year.

The office in Cairo was inaugurated by chairman Joseph F. X. Zahra, who said at the ceremony that the Euro-Mediterranean region was full of untapped potential.

"BoV has continued to forge closer ties with financial institutions that operate in the Euro-Mediterranean region to enhance the growing segment of our customer base, which is trading and investing in this emerging market," he said.

The office will be managed by Simon Azzopardi.
