Keith Grech is to contest the post of Labour Party general secretary.

He has been actively canvassing by visiting MLP clubs around Malta, declaring his intention to contest the post, which is to be vacated by Jimmy Magro, who is standing for European parliament elections.

Mr Grech has been telling party delegates he is in favour of change in the party.

Nominations close on Monday.
