The 11th edition of the Malta International Airshow, which ended yesterday, again attracted crowds of spectators, who were waiting outside the gates from early morning.

The press officer of the Vodafone-sponsored airshow, Richard Caruana, expressed his gratitude towards the crowds, who braved the bad weather and turned up.

Among the displays was that by the Water-Bomber of the Italian Civil Protection Department, which thrilled the crowd, followed by a search and rescue demonstration, performed by Italian Military Mission helicopters and Maltese AFM personnel.

The morning displays also included flights by RAF, Luftwaffe and German Navy fast jets, while the afternoon displays saw Tornadoes and RAF Nimrods in action.

But the highlight of the 11th edition of the airshow was the Jaguar Spectacular, organised to mark the 30th anniversary of Jaguar's entry into service.

During the display, four RAF Jaguars performed a dummy attack on the airfield.
