Throughout July, August and at the beginning of September, Kellogg's provided children with another challenge: learning to choose between healthy and unhealthy food. Erika's Summer Club took up the challenge, providing a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle from a very young age.

The club was open to all children and offered eight weeks packed with a rich variety of enjoyable activities. Children were put into small groups to allow personalised attention all day long and lots of interaction between friends. Parents were also encouraged to visit the club and participate in the programme at any time.

The daily schedule within the programme included guided activities, such as practical hands-on arts and craft, and projects dealing with science and nature. All these activities encompassed themes that encouraged kids to use their imagination and creativity.

Field trips and outdoor activities, such as visits to Popeye Village and to Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija, were specially geared towards the children's developmental and social needs.

Youngsters seeking an introduction to the exciting world of drama, dance and music were also able to subscribe to the Theatre Fun programme. This plays an important part in the development of children's self-confidence and self-expression.

These virtues could also be enhanced through the Show and Tell activity, which helped the children to expose their talents and knowledge to all the audience. Some surprise visitors hopped in to add to the fun, while educating the children on several subjects. These included Kellogg's representative and a nutritionist.

Kellogg's is a company of dedicated people making quality products for a healthier world. It enhances its worlwide leadership position by providing nutritious food products of superior value.

Children were delighted to receive free Kellogg's cereal bars during the nutritionist's delivery on healthy eating. Everyone was involved in an enjoyable activity in which they could visualise and learn what nutrition is all about. Cooking was also offered to all the children within the club on a weekly basis, so they were able to familiarise themselves with healthy and unhealthy food.
