A Zejtun man was yesterday given a nine-month jail term suspended for two years for causing over Lm300 damage to a Bank of Valletta ATM.

Michael Domenic Spiteri Gonzi, 45, pleaded guilty to damaging the ATM in Gzira on June 9, 2002 at about 7.30 p.m.

On handing down judgment Magistrate Saviour Demicoli noted that Spiteri Gonzi had filed a guilty plea at an early stage of the proceedings, had cooperated with the police and had paid for the damage caused.
