Children visit Lourdes

The HSBC Cares For Children Fund has covered the cost of a visit to Lourdes by 10 children suffering from various illnesses.

Parents and medical staff accompanied the children together with HSBC employee Marlene Bonnici.

The pilgrimage to Lourdes was organised by the Maltese Society for the Transportation of the Sick to Lourdes.

The society organises pilgrimages to Lourdes annually and conducts fund-raising campaigns to enable those who wish to visit Lourdes to do so.

The problem is particularly acute with regards to children, whose parents often have to give up their employment to provide the necessary care and who therefore cannot afford to make the pilgrimage.
