Misco Will be offering courses in cost-effective management, PA/executive secretary guide to human resources, Leadership management and Executive secretary 1.
Cost-effective management
The biggest challenge of management today is to ensure the most effective and efficient use of all the resources in their company. This training programme will help participants understand how poor utilisation of resources influences performance.
Through case studies, exercises and group discussions, participants will be given practical routes towards cost-effectiveness, which will also help them improve efficiency in their workplace.
Topics covered include how to identify waste of resources, what causes waste and the effect of waste. Participants will also be helped to work out solutions to eliminate waste.
This workshop will be held at Misco Training Centre in Valletta, on Friday between 2.30 and 6 p.m.
PA/executive secretary guide to HR
Personal Assistants and secretaries have a crucial role to play in contributing towards the effectiveness of a human resources function.
This course aims to give students an appreciation of the role and scope of the human resources function and to help them develop the skills and knowledge required to enhance their contribution to the effectiveness of the human resources team.
This practical and intensive one- afternoon training programme is designed for personal assistants and secretaries who have moved into the human resources area or PA/Executive Secretaries of senior managers who need a greater awareness of various functions of management.
The course will be held at Misco Training Centre, Valletta, on Thursday between 2.30 and 6 p.m.
Leadership in management
Changing economic situations generate change in organisational cultures. The role of the leadership is as vital as ever but as circumstances change, so must leadership techniques.
Most managers are under more pressure than ever before, with more to do and less time in which to do it.
Unless you are careful it will be your "leadership time" which suffers - and if you do not give enough time to your people they will not give you their best. So how can you retain your time and how much time should you give to each of your people. And what should your emphasis be during that time?
This course is ideal for senior managers and directors. Lectures will be delivered by Philip Bourne, MA (Cantab), director of TACK Training International, who has already been to Malta and led various courses.
Topics covered in this course will include motivating people to give their best and understanding quantity and quality of effort. The course will be held at Misco Training Centre on September 24 between 9 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Executive secretary 1
"How can I develop my administrative skills and become more of an asset to my organisation?" This is a question most secretaries ask at one point in their careers, and all those who have attended the above training programme are encouraged to find that there are other secretaries who ask the same question, but have it answered once the programme is completed.
This programme is most beneficial for experienced secretaries who want to develop and enhance their administrative and supervisory skills.
During this three-morning programme, secretaries from different businesses all over the island will work together through case studies, exercises, input sessions and discussions on real life events, and explore topics such as communication, visual and verbal behaviour, and different types of people and how to handle them, delegation, time management and human relations.
This programme will be held at the MISCO Training Centre from September 29 to October 1 between 9 a.m. and noon.
