Two Irish tourists were yesterday given a six-month jail term suspended for two years for injuring two men in a Bugibba hotel on Tuesday.
Philip Power, 25, and Olive Caulfield, 26, pleaded guilty to seriously injuring Stephen Ridley and slightly injuring Raymond Sultana at the Primera Hotel at about 1 a.m.
They also admitted causing Lm10 damage at the hotel, Lm7 damage to Sultana's detriment and breaching the peace.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera noted that the couple had cooperated with the police and were willing to pay for the damage caused. She also noted that Ridley and Sultana had forgiven them.
