The number of cruise passengers who visited Malta in the first seven months of the year was 180,139, the National Office of Statistics said. In the period under review, the highest number of cruise passengers were those coming from the British market (52,819) followed by the Spanish (50,467) and the US (15,458) markets.

The greatest proportion of cruise passengers, 45 per cent, were aged 50 to 79, followed by passengers aged 20 to 49 (43 per cent) and 0-19 (10 per cent).

The majority of the cruise passengers were women, accounting for 53 per cent of passengers.
