Over 2,000 people attended the night prayer vigil organised by the Gozo diocese at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary on the eve of the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady.

A short aux flambeaux procession with the effigy of Our Lady of Ta' Pinu was held from the church to the parvis, where a concelebrated Mass with over 20 priests was led by Bishop Nikol Cauchi.

Bishop Cauchi condemned the "paganism" in Maltese society and encouraged people to participate in church feasts and to show solidarity with the needy and the suffering.

Several choirs took part in the vigil besides members of charismatic, neo-catechumenal and Eucharistic groups.
