The General Workers' Union is in the process of setting up a working group with representatives of youth organisations to create a common front to discuss problems being faced by part-time workers.

The union said it was evident that the number of part-timers was increasing but on many occasions these workers were unaware of their rights.

The working group which will meet for the first time at the Workers' Memorial Building, in Valletta on Wednesday is made up of representatives of the GWU Youths, Inizjamed, Forum Zghazagh Laburisti, the Kunsill Nazzjonali taz-Zghazagh, the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji, the Kummissjoni Djocesana Zghazagh, the Malta Girl Guides, Moviment Graffitti, Move, Pulse, Studenti Demokristjani Maltin, the Young European Federalists and the Zghazagh Haddiema Nsara.

Youth organisations wanting to contribute to the working group should contact Gory Greenland, secretary, on 2123 8100.
