Life cyclists urged on

Air Malta has expressed its encouragement towards the 28 cyclists who are taking part in the eight-day Life Cycle Challenge 2003, which the airline is sponsoring for the fifth year.

The cyclists, aged between 17 and 45, left Malta for Manchester last Friday. They will cover more than 1,500 kilometres, starting from Stony Hurst College, outside Manchester, moving into the Highlands of Scotland and back.

Life Cycle started out by raising money for the renal unit but this year it has expanded its campaign to increase the number of organ donors in Malta.

The campaign aims at increasing awareness of organ transplantation by signing up 1,000 new donors and the money collected through the cycle ride will be in aid of the Organ Transplant Support Group in Malta.
