Obituary

SULTANA. On August 29, at Gozo General Hospital, GUZEPPA of Xaghra, widow of Karmnu, at the venerable age of 94, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Maria, Bernarda, widow of Saver Theuma, Consiglia and her husband Joe Grima, Joe and his wife Lucy née Sammut, her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Marija Bambina Basilica, Xaghra, Gozo, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Xaghra parish cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions will be appreciated.

ZAMMIT TABONA. On August 31, MAUD née Meli, aged 91, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Godfrey, her daughter Maryanne and her husband George Zammit Briffa, her son Lewis and his wife Theresa née Milanes, her grandchildren Kevin Zammit Briffa and his wife Roberta, Jackie and her husband Steve Chetcuti, Sharon and her husband Marc Aquilina, Sandra and her boyfriend Patrice Peyre, her great grandchildren Emma and Timothy, her in-laws Evelyn Azzopardi and Terry Zammit Tabona, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Maltese Night

Mdina local council is holding a Maltese Night in Bastion Square, Mdina on Friday to mark Mdina Day. Typical Maltese food and local beverages will be served while the Count Roger Band of Rabat will play band marches.

There will also be walkabouts in period costumes and a fireworks finale. The activity starts at 7 p.m.

Iklin Art On Display

An art exhibition by residents of Iklin is being held in the hall of the local council in Lewis F. Mizzi Street from Wednesday to Saturday. The opening times are 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m., from Wednesday to Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
